When Gut Health is strong, life is long!
Our initiative began with a personal journey. As high school students, we struggled with gut health due to poor habits—energy drinks, sugary snacks, inconsistent sleep, and stress. After experiencing the physical and mental effects firsthand, we decided to take action.
Through self-driven research and habit changes, we learned how deeply gut health is connected to nutrition, mental wellbeing, and daily choices. What started as a personal transformation became a shared mission: to spread awareness and help other teens take control of their gut health too.
We launched this initiative in Fall 2024 as a HOSA-FHP Health Education project with the goal of turning evidence-based science into accessible, teen-friendly content. Our purpose is to educate, empower, and inspire our peers to build healthier habits from the inside out.
Since our founding, we have been dedicated to making gut health education engaging and accessible. Here is what we have accomplished so far:
Taught 200+ students through in-person health science programs
Taught 7,000+ students online through interactive digital content + social media presence
Presented at 5 gut health awareness events in our community
Created a range of educational materials, including:
Presentations and slides for classrooms
A full teaching curriculum for student educators
Videos, social media content, and reels
Informative graphics & infographics
Our content is backed by research and reviewed with input from Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionists (LDNs) to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

Here are some of our future ideas and progressions:
Expanding awareness efforts to reach even more campuses across the country
Encouraging more students, educators, and clubs to teach our curriculum and share our resources
Launching tools to support students who want to learn more about their individual gut health concerns
Building a broader network of RDNs, LDNs, and healthcare professionals to support our initiative
We believe that gut health education should be a part of every student’s wellness journey—and we’re committed to making that a reality.
